Teachers for Global Classrooms
Capstone
This TGC Capstone Project is the creation of a Global Education Resource Guide specific to a local school community and district. Started during the online course, updated, and added to during the duration of the program (both U.S. Global Education Symposia and the international fellowship), the Capstone Project is a portfolio capturing the intensive and active learning during the program, as well as providing necessary tools for transforming a school community into a center of global engagement.
It is a work in progress and will not be completed until September, 2012.

What is Teachers For Global Classrooms?
Teachers for Global Classrooms is a program of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administered by IREX. Participants are selected through a national, open competition and must be U.S. citizens and full time middle or high school teachers with five or more years classroom experience.
The program provides an opportunity for teachers to globalize teaching and learning in their own classrooms through participation in an 8-week online course, two Global Symposia in Washington, D.C. and a two week international travel fellowship. Current program travel countries include Brazil, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Morocco and Ukraine.
My paripation in 2012 included traveling to Washington, D.C. February 16-18, to Ukraine April 14-28 and again to D.C. October 4-6.
